The Colossal squid (Mesonychoteuthis hamiltoni) is an extremely large cephalopod, known to reach lengths of up to 14m. Not to be confused with its smaller cousin, the giant squid, the colossal squid differs in its larger size, wider mantle, and the relatively short arms contain both hooks and suckers. 

Because of its elusive nature, fully-grown specimens of colossal squids are exceedingly difficult to study in the wild, so many features of them remain under-studied. It may be the largest known invertebrate. 

I’ve heard the colossal squid have the biggest eyes in the animal kingdom…can anyone confirm that? Thank ya :D
